Please click the thumbnails for larger images of this stunning Royal Crown Derby ewer with Bacchus head. It dates to 1892 and is decorated in an ornate detailed gilding with a Chinoiserie slant including Chinese chrysanthemums and garden birds. When it came to us, it had a poorly repaired handle with an associated crack running down to the Bacchus' head area. In addition, the base had been broken off in the past and again poorly repaired. The resulting repair has led to a little loss of the jewelling.
