iAuctionShop to offer rare early Leica I camera body by auction

SANDBACH, CHESHIRE, UK / Feb 01 2007. iAuctionShop has been engaged by a client to offer for sale an early and rare factory modified Leica I camera body.

iAuctionShop trading as R & S Collectables is delighted to offer a 1926 Leica I camera body for sale. Its serial number is 1180 during which production batch fixed lens units were produced. This model has had a later factory modification to the I (C ) screwmount specification. Further details and photographs may be found here - http://www.rscollect.co.uk/leica.htm

Leica offered factory upgrades to its camera until the mid 1950s. This modification would appear to have been done around 1930/1931.

This camera was acquired by an Edinburgh photographic dealer in the 1960s from Edinburgh University.

iAuctionShop welcomes advance notification of interest and will be contacting all interested parties in advance of placing the camera on auction. Interested parties should email leica@rscollect.co.uk. Inspection by appointment is also welcome

iAuctionShop Ltd trades as R & S Collectables listing about 5,000 product lines - mainly in the antiques, collectables and replacement tableware marketplaces, listing across several internet sales venues;
