A beautiful, circa 1820 and probably Davenport, (although unmarked), vase or urn in rich cobalt blue with hand painted floral and gilt decoration. Stands some 5.25 inches high. Re-gilded handles due to a prior repair and a minor restoration and repair to the rim, (both areas photographed in detail). Minor fine crazing to the glaze, but all-in-all a real beauty

An unusal dribble glazed art pottery vase, incised WJM or WSM to its base. I have been unable to find information on the potter who made this although it feels very much like Oxshott. Decorated in a green base with brown patterns drawn through it. Made from a terracotta type pottery. Stands 10 1/2 inches 27cms high and weighs 2kg. There are a number of small nibbles around the base, but they could easily be from manufacture. Unsure of the age of this vase, but an educated guess would be the 1960s. Additional photographs are available on request. |

A vintage earthenware steinware or stein ware jug. Probably by Albert Jacob Thewalt of Hoehr-Grenzhausen, Germany. I am a little uncertain as the triangle mark to the base is very lightly incised. Stands a whopping 13 1/2 inches 35cms high and weighs in at 2300g hence the high shipping costs below. In superb condition with no chips, cracks or repairs. A light, fine and even crazing to the glaze. Decorated with typical scenes of merriment and with a fruiting vine frieze to the top and a rather magnificent stylised lion's head below the spout. The handle is decorated with a woman's torso and arms at the top becoming an acanthus leaf at its bottom. Additional photographs are available on request. |

Impressive West German floor standing vase, great for displaying dried grasses or flowers. Could even be used to hold umbrellas or similar. In good condition, although one small chip to the foot of the vase - this of course, is not visible when the piece is in place within your home. Dates between 1960 and 1989, and marked to the underside with 429/45. The 429 refers to the shape or form number, and the 45 indicates the vase height. Measures 17 3/4 inches (45 cm) in height, and weighs a whopping 3kg unpackaged. Additional photographs are available on request. |

A rare original Copenhagen bowl in the Blue Flowers pattern, (still in production today). This pattern was introduced in 1779 and the mark to the base was used during the period that Anton Karl Luplau of Furstenberg was the master modeller at the factory - 1776 to 1795. Hand painted blue underglaze decoration on a true porcelain bowl. There is an unglazed portion to the rim where it was stacked in the kiln. In unusually good condition for an item which is about 230 years old with one or two imperfections in the glaze from manufacture but no chips, cracks or repairs. The bowl's diameter is approximately 5.5 inches or 14 cms and it stands approximately 3 inches, 7.5cms high.

A stunning pair of Sevres style cobalt blue vases with exquisite painted floral panels and delicate gilt work. Most probably Davenport by style, but unmarked to the base. Dates to around 1820. Both vases had cracked parts to the rims/top and three of the birds were missing small parts. Our ex Royal Doulton model maker restorer has repaired the tops and restored the missing parts of the birds. Some minor losses to the paint. The price reflects the previous damage that is now extremely difficult to spot. Each vase stands some 8.5 inches high. The gilding is the same on the top and central sections of the vases but the bases vary slightly as can be seen in the photographs.
